Wow time to update this newsletter!
November 2002

First of all, for everyone who came to the picnic, I hope you had fun, I myself totally enjoyed the costume contest. There were some wonderful and inventive costumes.

If you happened to check the website during August, it was veiled in black, to mourn the passing of Lorraine Ebeling, a wonderful person, good friend and one of the original founders of Greyhound Rescue of NY. I will not be able to fill her shoes, but I will try to continue to follow her lead in rescuing as best I can.

September was a month of anticipation of greyhounds coming from Florida and waiting for the hurricanes to stop, so the greyhounds could get out on the haulers. However, the greyhounds from Florida didn’t arrive until October 8th.

October was a furry of events. First the Kidder Fair at the Jewish Community Center in Albany. THANKS to those who volunteered and did a great job of speaking on behalf of GRONY at the fair,

  • Bonnie and Gene Schissler
  • Dave and Sandy Farstad
  • Kurt and Denise Mason
  • Special thanks to Scott Ebeling for stopping by!

Dewey Beach – Greyhound Weekend was great. There was a bit of everything, in regards to the weather, rain one day, sunny and warm the next and then came the wind, however the greyhounds seem to know its their weekend, and wanted to enjoy each moment, there were greyhound and people activities, plus the wonderful vendors tent and hotel rooms to explore for merchandise to buy.

The Upstate New York Greyhound Day seemed to be the cherry on the top of a busy month.
